September 20, 2023

Treynor, IA, September 21, 2023 – Kelsey Stupfell is the Director of Public Relations at TS Banking Group, the holding company of TS Bank and has been named as a 2023 “40 Under 40” recipient with Midland's Business Journal, which highlights an annual class of 40 Greater Omaha, Lincoln and Council Bluffs entrepreneurs, executives and professionals under the age of 40.

Kelsey leads the public relations and community reinvestment strategy across the company, including 15 locations in the four states of Iowa, North Dakota, Illinois and Wisconsin with a primary focus of corporate giving toward financial literacy. As a brand ambassador, she works alongside the company’s business units to help execute market specific giving, storytelling efforts, volunteer opportunities and create a valued-added client impact.

Kelsey is a philanthropic leader, aiming to ensure the overall comprehensive, community development focus is aligned in keeping with the company mission, vision and core values. Additionally, she is a skillful relationship builder who works across public, private and nonprofit sectors while engaging community advocates.

TS Bank is dedicated to community prosperity and reinvests 10% of its net income back to the community through outreach, non-profit donations, and event sponsorships. Plus, employees are offered 50 hours of paid volunteer time off annually. Collectively over $5 million dollars has been reinvested in the local communities since 2007.

With over 16 years of banking and financial industry experience, her various roles across the company have encompassed community banking, human relations, employee engagement, client experience, communications along with marketing and public relations. Kelsey is a Treynor, Iowa, native and graduate of Simpson College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Corporate Communication. She has made a great impact on her community with her professional background and robust experiences.

“It excites me to work in community banking and for a company where I am part of something that is bigger than myself. I am passionate about our giving philosophy and bringing our “why” to life each day and helping others discover theirs,” shared Stupfell.

Some of Kelsey’s business accomplishments have included: 1) Developing the company’s tagline, IGNITE PROSPERITY® through the work of internal discovery sessions; 2) The creation of AMP for Neighborhoods. It came from an idea where she was standing on a curb engaging community advocates about the need to help the curb-appeal of homes in our local area. Since then, over 50 homeowner projects in Southwest Iowa have been assisted; 3) Aiding in TS Promise, a motivational student program for schools, which she also benefited from in high school; 4) Leading REV, a small business pitch competition and Impacting Nonprofits workshop, an annual professional development opportunity for nonprofit leaders, which are two key signature company events.

As a local southwest Iowa girl, her heart aligns with ways to give back to children, music education, agritourism and community engagement. Kelsey serves as the current President of Four Corners Community Foundation and the recent Past President/Advisor for the Council Bluffs Guild of the Omaha Symphony as well as on the advisory board for the Assure Women’s Center, Iowa Western Community College Arts Center, and Iowa Bankers Association Women in Banking. She is also a devoted Junior Achievement volunteer, which instructs youth in the classroom about their community, jobs and entrepreneurship.

Likewise, she is involved with music ministry at Harvest Community Church and on the Community Foundation for Western Iowa marketing committee. Additionally, she is an alumnae member of Leadership Council Bluffs, Class 23, and recent graduate from the state’s premier issue-awareness program promoting leadership and civic responsibility, Leadership Iowa, Class 41.

Kelsey grew up on her family’s century farm and in 2008 married her husband, Perry, a fifth-generation farmer, and together raising their children, Eugene, Evelyn and Charles on the Stupfell family farm, which is just west of Treynor, Iowa. She is also the meal-wagon in the spring and fall for the family farming operation and loves the lifestyle farming provides as a reminder that hard work and being humble never go out of style.

The 2023 40 Under 40 Awards Celebration will be held at the Omaha Design Center on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. To learn more about the awards visit, www. mbj.com.
