TS Bank supports Nishna Valley Family YMCA's new after school meal program
February 25, 2025
Atlantic, IA, February 25, 2025 - TS Bank recently donated $1,000 to support the Nishna Valley Family YMCA's annual campaign. This contribution will significantly impact the new after school meal program, which aims to provide nutritious meals to children up to the age of 18 in the Cass County and surrounding areas.
The after school meal program, which started in the second week of January, is currently offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each meal includes all five components of healthy foods: fruits, vegetables, whole grain crackers and chips, milk and protein. On average, the Nishna Valley Family YMCA is serving 45 children per meal day.

"The food program provides a complete meal, including all five essential components of a healthy diet," shared Director of the Nishna Valley Family YMCA, Dan Hayes. "Currently, the meal program is offered twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday, but the goal is to be able to offer it five days a week and offset the summer school meal programs available through the school. We are thankful for TS Bank's support.”
The program initially received a one-time startup grant from YMCA of the USA, and to keep it sustainable, the local Nishna Valley Family YMCA rely on donations and volunteers. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated and can be directed to the YMCA after school meal program. Volunteers are also welcome and greatly appreciated in helping to set up and serve food.
