TS Bank employees cut ribbon for Ames Grand Opening

Successful TS Bank grand opening held in Ames

September 11, 2023

Ames, IA, September 11, 2023 - In conjunction with the Ames Chamber of Commerce, TS Bank held its formal grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony with nearly 100 attendees at its newest location in Ames, Iowa, at 402 Lincoln Way, Friday, September 1, with nearly 100 attendees enjoying a complimentary lunch and ice cream. The afternoon festivities included several familiar faces from Iowa State University, including Cy, a fan favorite.

Additionally, the bank is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year; TS Bank was chartered in May 1923 with a mission to IGNITE PROSPERITY® and is dedicated to changing lives and communities across the Midwest.

The Ames location opened as a loan production office in June 2020 and as a full-service branch location in April 2023. Since then, TS Bank has seen significant engagement with the community resulting in loan growth throughout central Iowa.

The lobby was remodeled earlier this year and includes a new teller line and branch area, new carpeting, lighting, furniture, the addition of three new offices on the main floor along with new landscaping. The bank location also features a Video ATM in lane two of its drive-thru where clients can conduct deposits, withdrawals, payments and make transfers between accounts along with other tasks without coming in the lobby or calling on the phone.

TS Bank's 100-year anniversary is a key milestone in its commitment to the communities it serves to DO MORE. With eight locations in southwest and central Iowa, collectively the bank has over $432 million in assets. Additionally, TS Bank has the largest Iowa state-chartered C-Corp trust department in western Iowa, TS Prosperity Group with $267 million in assets, and now includes brands of TS Ag Finance, Callahan Financial Planning Company and Collins Consulting.

TS Bank is also dedicated to community reinvestment and donates 10% of its pre-tax income back to the community. In 2007, Mick, Judy and Josh Guttau, the family owners of TS Bank, sat down for lunch to discuss how much the company should reinvest in its communities and did a blind test – writing down a percentage on a napkin. When they flipped them over, each one had the same amount – 10 percent.

The bank is committed to teaching financial wellness, hosting educational events and partnering with local nonprofits. Since 2007, TS Bank has granted nearly $5 million dollars through these efforts and impacted over 140,000 students and adults through financial literacy and wellness efforts.

“We are so thankful to be in this new community. It is with deepest gratitude that as a company we have served southwest Iowa the last 100 years. Moreover, we look forward to serving for another 100 years and now expanding that impact into central Iowa and Story County and ways we can IGNITE PROSPERITY® together,” said TS Banking Group President of Community Banking, Dave Wise.
